Ministries
Acolyte Guild
Acolytes are followers or attendants. Acolytes lead the processional and recessional. They also assist the clergy and Lay Eucharistic Ministers during the service.
Altar Guild
Altar Guild members serve God in His house by preparing the altar to ensure that services run as smoothly as possible. They are responsible for cleaning and ironing the linens and vestments and preparing the elements. The guild provides the appropriate settings for the altar and services in recognition of the rites of the Episcopal Church. Set up is generally done on Saturdays from 10:00 AM.
Brotherhood of St Andrew
This is a missionary and evangelism ministry for men and boys in the Episcopal/Anglican Communion. Its goal is to bring men and boys to Jesus Christ.
Choir Guild
Members are invited to lift their voices in praise to the Lord. If you think you can carry a tune, please join us. Membership is open to anyone in the parish.
Daughters of the King
This is an order for women in the Episcopal Church with chapters in the Roman Catholic and the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. Daughters are dedicated to prayer and service for Christ's sake. Our Chapter, No. 3625, was installed on Sunday, December 18th 2005.
Lay Eucharistic Ministers
Lay Eucharistic Ministers (fondly called LEMs) assist the clergy at Holy Eucharist by administering the chalice to communicants. LEMs are licensed by the Bishop at the request of the Rector following a training session. LEMs may be licensed to take communion to homebound parishoners. To be licensed you must be a confirmed communicant in good standing and have a desire to assist in the liturgy.
Lectors
Lectors are called upon to read the lesson at Eucharistic Services. No special training is required for this ministry. Monthly reading schedules are posted.
Ushers
Ushers welcome parishioners and guests as they enter the church, by greeting them and giving each person a bulletin. Ushers also assist in seating, at the offertory and communion.
